TWINGHY

Digital TWINs for Green HYdrogen transition in steel industry

The objective of TWINGHY is to study the feasibility of using hydrogen as a primary fuel to substitute natural gas in reheat furnaces of the steel industry. The project will develop a Digital Twin (DT) leveraging experimental data with numerical models for furnace control and operations optimization.

The role of PTG within TWINGHY is to perform high-fidelity simulations and reduced-order models of furnace systems to aid the developments of the DT.
